AZNAVOURYAN RHYTHNS
IN THE FORM OF A COLLECTION
On April 6, the exhibition of the new collection of Lilit Melikyan, designer, founder of the «Teryan Cultural Center» NGO, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great chansonnier Charles Aznavour, took place at the Museum of Modern Art. The demonstration was carried out as part of the Days of Francophonie.
«Rhythms of Aznavour. The collection named «luxurious revolution» was the designer’s unique tribute to the legendary Armenian chansonnier.
The collection featured the noble sounds, expressions of love and emotional melody, which was visible in every design and detail of the collection.
Classics, elegance and femininity, straight shapes, lightness and play, impressive prints, modern approaches and retro mood. In Lilit Melikyan’s new collection, music and fashion met and formed a wonderful unity.
The show started with a unique performance, then continued with Aznavourian sounds and impressive looks.
Despite the bright red paintings on the walls of the showroom, the collection was not full of bright colors. In order to convey the breath and mood of the Aznavourian «era», the designer preferred more neutral shades.
The collection was dominated by khaki green, gray, beige and classic black.
Shiny and metallic looks contrasted with the neutral tones of the collection’s samples, and women’s dresses, corsets and skirts replaced the classic, strict shapes.
The art-filled environment of the «Museum of Modern Art» was a harmonious setting for the exhibition of the collection inspired by the art of the great chansonnier, and the watching audience had a spectacular experience of fashion spiced with Aznavourian art.
